Restarting Tourism: A Roadmap to Rebuilding a Safe, Resilient and Sustainable Visitor Economy
November 20 @ 10:00 am - 11:00 am PST
Tourism is a key economic driver for the Pacific Northwest (PNW) region, averaging $71.4 billion per year in visitor spending. The COVID-19 pandemic has disrupted this vital industry in a major way and highlighted the value of cross-border travel and tourism to both local jurisdictions and the PNW region.
For this panel, a bi-national panel of tourism professionals will identify the impact of COVID-19 on the region’s tourism industry and discuss a roadmap to recovery for the PNW. Panelists will address what needs to be done now to support this crucial sustainable and green industry, encourage public confidence in the safety of tourism and travel, and build resilience for the future of tourism in the PNW.
