About the Event

The Rising Economy 2024 conference is produced by South Island Prosperity Partnership (SIPP), Greater Victoria’s economic development agency.

SIPP and its 70+ members represent one of Canada’s most collaborative economic development models. Our not-for-profit alliance includes municipal and First Nations governments,  post-secondaries, industry associations and nonprofits, Chambers of Commerce and major employers.

We envision Greater Victoria as a globally fluent and resilient metropolitan city-region, full of potential and open to transformation. Our region represents a fusion of cultures and geographies, rooted in the traditional lands of the Coast Salish peoples and connected to the rest of Canada, the Pacific Northwest and the world. Together, we take bold steps to nurture a more innovative, diversified, inclusive and sustainable economy.

Now in its fourth year, the Rising Economy conference brings together leading thinkers from the business, government and non-profit sectors to engage in conversations about how our region and the world will meet the challenges of the 21st century. The conference features a curated selection of in-person and online events designed to shape the future of our economy by design, not by default.

With an A-list of exciting keynote speakers and panelists, Rising Economy explores topics critical to Greater Victoria, British Columbia and the world around us.

The Rising Economy 2024 conference takes place from Wednesday, March 6, to Friday, March 8, in Victoria, British Columbia.

The Rising Economy 2024 conference is a high-engagement event that takes place in Greater Victoria, British Columbia, on the traditional territories of the Lək̓ʷəŋən people. Venue location to be announced.

The first Rising Economy conference in 2020 brought leaders to grapple with managing our economy through the pandemic. We knew by working together, we would rebound from the pandemic faster.

Four years later, with recovery well underway in most sectors, the Rising Economy conference has become a magnet for people interested in shaping our economy by design, not default, making sense of the massive changes around us and creating a future focused on RISE — resilient, inclusive, sustainable economies.
